TikTok memories… 2021.

Around this time, I had started diving even deeper into my anger, trying to understand:

Why am I like this?………

I was carrying a quiet rage within me.
A rage I had learned to suppress, swallow, soften, hide, laugh off, and turn into jokes… until eventually, it would come bursting out of me.

Looking back at this now makes me want to hold and love this version of myself, because I can see that even then, my body was already searching for ways to express what I had spent so much time holding in.

Our bodies are intelligent. They will find ways to speak to us, sometimes in ways we don’t understand at first. And Tapping was one of the first tools that opened a doorway for me.

EFT and tRt helped me slow down the activation that could so easily set me off. And as I kept tapping, breathing, and paying attention to what was happening in my body, I began to recognize the deeper layers beneath the anger.

There was so much underneath it asking to be felt, understood, loved and listened to.

When we choose to love all parts of ourselves, we begin to hear ourselves differently.

You are worthy of the care you so freely give to others.

How we choose to care for our bodies, our minds, and ourselves in the everyday moments does not always have to look big or profound. Sometimes, they’re found in the smallest choices we make throughout the day.

When I say self-care or self- love what does that actually look like?

It can look like eating something nourishing.
Moving your body. Taking a deep breath and slowing down. Tapping through an emotion instead of pushing it away. Getting enough rest.
Drinking water. Making that appointment.
Saying no when something doesn’t feel right.
And saying yes to what feels good.

It can be soft, practical, emotional, physical, playful, boring, beautiful… all of it counts.

Lately, I’ve been devoting more time to eating healthier, balanced meals and nourishing my body in ways that feel good. 😋

And yes… I still very much enjoy my chips and chocolate-covered almonds. Because caring for ourselves doesn’t have to mean perfection.

For most of my life, I believed anger was something I needed to suppress in order to be a “good” person.

And my body learned other ways to hold it.

Swallow it.
Disconnect from it.
Turn it inward.
Collapse around it.
And eventually, explode with it.
Or carry the tension quietly in the body.

This is one of the reasons I created FlowFusion — to give the body different ways to move, feel and respond, while rebuilding our capacity to be in relationship with anger.

To experience strength without becoming consumed by it.

We’re not trying to force anger out of the body or make ourselves more explosive.

We’re creating space to feel the energy of anger while staying connected to ourselves.

Through:

• rhythmic + chaotic movement
• tapping
• shaking
• grounding
• conscious breath
• fascia release
• sound + expression
• moments of stillness + integration

The breath becomes especially important.

Deepening and slowing the breath can help support a sense of safety and presence. Instead of abandoning ourselves when activation rises, we practice staying with ourselves.

Feeling our feet.
Moving the energy.
Listening to what the body is communicating.

Because anger can hold so much information.

Something hurt.

And rather than judging what arises, we can become curious.

And I can still remain connected to myself.

(After years of doing this, I still surprisingly startle my kids and their friends by simply being there in complete silence. 😆) guys….I’m always here…allllways 👀🙃🤭)

And there are days I sit with grief. Days I sit with pain.
Days I question, feel, and simply allow myself to be with whatever is here:

What if I were better at this? What if I spoke like this?
Looked like this? Moved like this?

What if? What if? What if?

💡 WHAT IF… WE reframe…throw out the old script and write a new one 🌹

What if, instead of asking how I could be better, we asked how we could be more accepting of what is present? And how can we improve ourselves?
Or How can i relate to my self differently?

How can we move through this world with more intention?
How can we love ourselves, our bodies, our voices and mind more fully?
How can we show up for our children while still honouring that their path is their own?

And maybe the question becomes less:

“What’s wrong with us?”

and more:

“How can we meet ourselves here?”

Meeting ourselves, In the isness. In the now. In the in-between.
In the confusion. In the joy. In the grief.
In the love. And in the shadows too. 🤍

So today, I remind myself and tap:

Even though, I don’t always love my self.
I am proud of where I am.
Proud of the work I’ve done.
Proud of the woman I continue to become. 🤍

I remember standing in front of the mirror years ago, trying to do the Louise Hay program—looking into my own eyes, saying something loving, telling myself I loved myself…

And sometimes I just felt angry. Disgusted. Or sad. I’d look away. I didn’t like what I saw, and I genuinely could not understand what other people saw in me.

Over the last few weeks, a couple of people have brought mirror work back into my awareness. And yesterday as I watched a beautiful woman, @emmamae.thewildway loving herself in the mirror, I felt inspired to share as well.

I’m learning what self-love really FEELS like.
Not just saying, “I love myself.” Actually FEELING it.

Feeling more at home in my body. Enjoying my own company. Seeing myself with softer eyes.
Letting myself be imperfect and alive. Laughing with my kids. Being near them and suddenly noticing them differently too.

Louise Hay taught that mirror work can be a way of building a more loving relationship with ourselves. And the more love and compassion we learn to offer ourselves, the more we can bring that into our relationships with others.

And I finally understand that in a way I didn’t before.
I’m also learning that loving myself doesn’t have to be perfectly done. Not every moment has to look a certain way to count as the meaningful ones. And this reel doesn’t have to be perfect either. 🌹

So here’s a little invitation…

Pick a love song you love and sing it to yourself in the mirror.

Look into your own eyes. FEEL your gaze and your touch. Slow down and really look at all parts of yourself with compassion. If you notice yourself looking away, distracting yourself, or wanting to leave the moment, gently take a breath, tap and come back to yourself.

Let yourself be both the one giving the love and the one receiving it.

There’s something really beautiful about feeling that love coming from within. 🤍💝

Life doesn’t ask you to be perfect, it’s asking you to be REAL! Life often holds contrasts, and within us, very different truths and experiences can coexist.

Love and fear.
Joy and grief.
Light and darkness.
Clarity and confusion.
Connection and loneliness.
Beauty and pain.

We can feel grateful and still be hurting.
We can be healing and still have hard days.
We can feel strong and tender at once.

This summer has been filled with moments that reminded me what truly matters.

Time with family.
Friendships that nourish the heart.
Laughter, movement, nature, conversations, new experiences, and moments of simply being together.

So much of our healing happens within ourselves, and so much of it happens through connection.

Through being seen.
Being witnessed.
Being supported.
Being loved exactly where we are.

We aren’t meant to do all of this alone.

Feeling deeply grateful for the people, places, and experiences that have been part of this season of my life. 🤍

There are parts of ourselves we don’t always show.

The parts that struggle quietly.
The parts that feel exhausted.
The parts that can love life deeply and still have moments where being here feels incredibly heavy.

I know that contrast personally.

I can laugh.
I can dance.
I can make plans.
I can feel completely in love with life.

And I can also have thoughts that say,
“I don’t want to be here.”

Both can exist at the same time.

Sometimes these thoughts are about wanting the pain to stop. Wanting the overwhelm to quiet. Wanting relief. Or simply needing connection.

For someone to sit with you.
To listen without trying to fix you.
To remind you that you don’t have to carry that moment alone.

Let’s work together, to help make these conversations feel safer, to lessen the shame around having these thoughts and to remind people that they don’t have to hide what’s happening inside of them.

I don’t share this for sympathy.

I share it because I know how easy it is to hide the “darker” thoughts when people are used to seeing the bright, loving, joyful parts of you.

And maybe someone reading this is doing exactly that.

You do not have to wait until you are at the edge to reach out.

You can reach out and simply say:

“I’m struggling today.”
“I don’t want to be alone.”
“Can you stay with me for a while?”

For me, EFT tapping has also been one of the ways I find my way back to myself.

There are parts of ourselves we don’t always show.

The parts that struggle quietly.
The parts that feel exhausted.
The parts that can love life deeply and still have moments where being here feels incredibly heavy.

I know that contrast personally.

I can laugh.
I can dance.
I can make plans.
I can feel completely in love with life.

And I can also have thoughts that say,
“I don’t want to be here.”

Both can exist at the same time.

Sometimes these thoughts are about wanting the pain to stop. Wanting the overwhelm to quiet. Wanting relief. Or simply needing connection.

For someone to sit with you.
To listen without trying to fix you.
To remind you that you don’t have to carry that moment alone.

Let’s work together, to help make these conversations feel safer, to lessen the shame around having these thoughts and to remind people that they don’t have to hide what’s happening inside of them.

I don’t share this for sympathy.

I share it because I know how easy it is to hide the “darker” thoughts when people are used to seeing the bright, loving, joyful parts of you.

And maybe someone reading this is doing exactly that.

You do not have to wait until you are at the edge to reach out.

You can reach out and simply say:

“I’m struggling today.”
“I don’t want to be alone.”
“Can you stay with me for a while?”

For me, EFT tapping has also been one of the ways I find my way back to myself.

The slow walks.
The stillness.
Sitting and listening to the wind move through the trees.
Watching my son explore.
Being present with Zeke.

Nature is where I feel most connected, most alive, and most like myself.

Although I’m not taking any new clients during July, my practice doesn’t stop. These tools are woven into my everyday life.

EFT tapping.
Somatic movement.
Breath awareness.

Noticing when my nervous system is speeding up and gently inviting it to slow down.
Checking in with my body and honouring my capacity.

These aren’t just things I teach; they’re things I live.

And some days we need the support of others, and there is great wisdom in reaching out. There is also something empowering about having tools you can return to every day, right where you are.

A gentle reminder to us:
It is safe to slow down.

It is safe to rest.

It is safe to simply be.

Life can be joyous, and we get to choose our own adventure. ✨

Life is different now. A head injury changes things, and I’m learning that recovery isn’t about rushing back to who I was. I may never be exactly who I was before, and that’s something I’m slowly coming to understand.

Instead, I’m learning to meet myself where I am each day with patience, compassion, and curiosity.

For now, I’m giving my brain and body the time they need, celebrating the good days, honouring the harder ones, and trusting that every moment of rest and recovery is part of the journey.

And still, there is so much joy to be found along the way. 🌻💛

I am deeply grateful for the friends and family who have shown up for me during this time. And to the new friendships that have wrapped me in so much love, kindness, and support, you mean the world to me, ladies. 🥰✨

The game Spoons is the cat’s pyjamas. 😆😽❤️

@audreechouin taught us this game, and she absolutely LOVES playing it. 🥰

We sometimes spend so much time protecting things that we forget to enjoy them.

This table is over 15 years old and spent many years barely being used because I was worried about marks, scratches, and spills.

Now it’s where we gather, laugh, play games, share meals, and make memories.

Of course, I know that heat mark can be removed.
However it’s a reminder that this table isn’t just furniture it’s part of our story. ❤️✨
